English Free Translation of Hmm, Aku Tahu!

One day there was a child: this child was very lazy and would not go to school. His mother would send him to school, but he would refuse. Instead, he would go and play with his friends, and go here and there, but would not do any work. His mother told him, 'if you won't go to school, then I will make some cakes for you to sell'.

So, at first she made five banana fritters and told him to go and to sell them. He took five banana fritters and went. He left the house to go and to sell them. He went everywhere but nobody wanted to buy. He went on and met an old man under a tree. The old man said to him, 'you there with things to sell, come here!' The boy said nothing. Again the old man said, 'come, let me see!' He saw that he was selling five banana fritters.

The old man asked, 'do you want to become rich?' The boy asked, 'what do you mean by becoming rich?' The old man said, 'listen, you who I am speaking to, do you want to become rich?' The boy said yes. Alright. He ate one of his fritters and when he finished, he said to the boy, 'wherever you go, do not forget to say hmmm, aku tahu!' The boy said, alright. He ate another banana fritter and he went. The boy went down to the street and kept saying, 'hmmm, aku tahu!' When he saw that nobody was buying, he went home.

His mother said to him, 'Hey, young man! Any news?' But he merely replied, 'hmmm, aku tahu!' His mother stared at him and asked, 'what sort of words are these, hmmm aku tahu?!' She shouted at him, 'let me see how many fritters left?' He replied that there was only one.
